Hey.

Few days ago i started up a new general off-topic forums which has lot of features, we are using Vbulletin solfware and it looks professional, now only thing what we are missing is members. How can we get active members which are interested of those kind of forums that will stay active on our forum boards?

How to advertisement or something?

Pay posters to fill up forum
Have plugin so you can post as different members
Get used to talking to yourself for a while under different accounts
Bookmark as much as you can
Do Seo and lots of it

yea you have to make fake posts, threads, fake members etc. No one wants to join an inactive forum. Once people start finding your threads in google they will join and reply to the thread or ask for help etc. Then the forum grows from there.

First you need to fill up the forum so it would look alive. Nobody likes to contribute to new/empty forum so you need to create impression of old and solid and long time running site
