Comments can be very important to make users stay longer and come back but they can be a lot of pain to manage, how do you do it?

In the past, I have disabled comments several times, but I think I have removed as many as possible,. I want to try to activate comments but only if you use social media.

I have seen several free plugins but usually, the management of comments is only on the premium version and at this stage I would not like to use paid plugins especially because the cost is not one-off but monthly or yearly.

Any suggestions?

P.S.

Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions these days, but I think they could be things of common interest! :-)

That depends on the nature of your content and niche.

For some niches, you don't want readers to comment. You just output knowledge.

And, if you are not confident in your content, you can disable comment as well.

If your niche requires reader engagement like comments, you can enable comments. But you need to engage in comments as well.

Comments are less favored as it used to be. Only specific niches are suitable for allowing comments.

And comments carry no specific SEO value as well. So it's mostly a matter of choice.

I always have them disabled. But im mostly in the health niche and people tend to just ask many questions that you just cant answer without doing a lot of research. And I wouldnt want to have to filter out spam or moderate the comments.

I don't feel comments are needed, the only exception is if you provide a serice or product and theck pages but other than that is optional also depends on the type of information but is not a must.
