I received a mail from Amazon that "my Associates account is at risk of closure".

Anyone got the same experience before? What should I do? Is it possible to avoid ban?

Post the whole email with your details censored to see what they want.

If you don't get at least 3 sales within 6 months from the opening of the affiliate account they will close your account. Not a big deal tho, there is no money to be made with the amazon affiliate program.

I have sales worth over $300k in the last one year

I just realized it's only related to this.

  • While reviewing your account we noticed that the information on your account, such as the identification of your site, is not current. I realized I had a totally wrong description of my websites. So, I updated the descriptions and informations about my sites. Is that all? This is not related to my website structure, traffic sources, etc? I am spamming reddit with one website and last week someone posted my affiliate ID and told others to report me to Amazon. Already this morning this mail arrived. So, I am now thinking, is that a good news? That they received reports and made a review of my websites and only realized that I've got problem with identification of my site?

That should be fine.
They're generally good if you're not trying to screw them over.

You think so? I heard a lot of stories of accounts being banned after reports from Reddit, that's why I was afriad. But, I guess they would ban me already or they would mention other problems (like traffic source) in this mail?

You need to have this somewhere in your website: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

I have that on my home page and in every relevant article as well

My Amazon account was suspended due to policy violation in 2019, had to undergo a lot of struggle to get it reinstated. I had more than $8k in it.

But they probably didn't tell you what was wrong exactly?

Then, contact them on their live chat and ask what else you need to do to be in compliance with their operating agreement :)

No they never tell your that and instead ask you to follow the policy. I found some random guy on Facebook who helped me undertsannd the issues and try multiple times to get the restriction removed.

You can create another account with the same email and change the link. There's a lot of money to be made. People blindly trust amazon.

If that is residual income then that is cool, but if it's a time suck then, if that's US sales at 3%, it maybe better to focus elsewhere.

I know that's easy to say, but I've been there with Amazon and I was always anxious that my account would be shut down, as it was, for the slightest infringement.

Since then I've moved into training and earn more...without the constant worry.

Anyways, hope you find a path that works for you Amazon or other.

Good luck :)
