Acronym domain name vs long ass one

Im looking for a local domain name but was wondering if some of you could shed some light on whether to pick a acronym domain name for the location [for example NYrestaurants] or write the whole thing out [NewYorkRestaurants], baring in mind that the niche and the location I am going for is 4 words all together and they are a lot longer than NY, which would get to around 25 letters all together [adding in a "the" in front becuase without it the domain name is taken].

I'd advise you to choose a shorter brandable domain. Long domain would be hard to remember and apart from that, its not even EMD so not worth it IMHO.
