Acquiring a non active URL

Hey guys, forgive my ignorance, and sorry admin if this is in the wrong section.

I have recently purchased an old business and trying to register everything and get a store back online. I am trying to find a URL closest to my brand for my new store. The problem is I can't find anything. Although i have found something that I am after that's apparently registered although when typing the URL it just says connecting?

Another URL says its registered when searching domain sites but theres no website attached? Is it possible to find the person who owns it and see if they would sell it?

Do a whois lookup and you may see some identifying information from when the domain was purchased.
