I see a lot of merchants and sellers complaining about charge backs over merchandise that was sold and delievered but later found out to be purchased with Stolen Credit Cards.

Why don't merchants just insist on Paypal only when selling on Ebay?

    Is this possible?

This type of issue happens only on service oriented Business.

Thanks Wayne...not sure what you mean by "service oriented business" (you talking carpet cleaning, etc?).

I was referring to selling merchandise on Ebay...and sellers getting screwed with bybacks, etc.

    Please clarify....thank you!

95% Of the time this is with paypal.
The seller gets screwed out of money and the buyer just makes another credit card purchase to screw the next one.

But paypal/ebay forces many sellers to use paypal and many buyers only wish to use paypal to pay.
    Thinking they are protected.

None of our f_cking business. And moving on.........

That's not true at all....... this is misinformation and it clearly comes from someone who has never been a victim of fraud on paypal.

One good example... signatures are required on all items over 250 dollars in order to be covered by seller protection. You have to outweigh the cost vs. risk, because getting a signature makes your customer pissed off, and it costs more money.

In order to sell on ebay you HAVE to accept paypal. There is no choice.

At the end of the day, it's just the cost of doing business.

    Hmm....ok.

I haven't done ebay yet as seller....although i have an old ebay account.

At one time, making a payment using paypal was a done deal. No refunds, No challenges, nothing. (unless the seller never delievered product...buyer was pretty much locked in).

Is this no longer the case?

...ok, i think i know what happened.

At one time, Paypal was a seperate company. Now that they are owned by Paypal....they operate just like any other credit card (maybe worse).

    Can someone confirm this?

You can never do away with charge backs. Even if you use paypal, you will see many chargebacks. Its just how it works, nothing is 100% secure, everything has a little risk attached with it. Even though paypal is much better than other merchants like 2CO, plimus, etc. it is still not 100% chargeback free.
