Abusing Haiti.is this not wrong?

I use Facebook regularly and while on my regular account noticed something pretty disturbing. I saw so many groups that claimed they would "Donate $1 to Haiti for every person that joins the page". Many of these pages had some sort of CPA offer, referal program, or some sort of monetization.

I know most of you are probably aware of these groups, and have seen them also.

I know Blackhat as a whole has a bit of evil in it, but I feel that this is just far too evil. Making money from the suffering of people in a third world country who have recently faced such a disaster? Really now?

Realistically, some of those guys are making $1K + a DAY off of this, and let's be honest; none of it is going to charity.

Yeah, I had seen one of those threads before, but was unable to find it now.

I have held a similar campaign. However, I did donate money as I could not live with the fact knowing that I took advantage of a situation like that.

If the person actually donates, then that is definitely not as bad (in my opinion at least). Let's just hope the others are donating just like you did.

First of all how do you know they are not actually donating to Haiti?

And second, fuck Haiti. They get more help than anywhere in the world and it does them no good whatsoever.

It's too bad they had an earthquake and all but if they hadn't built the whole city out of watered down concrete they would have been just fine. A similar magnitude earthquake in California would kill about 3 people.

You serve no purpose on this thread other than a punching bag. Let's pray that you are never in that situation. What is your house made of? Wood? Why did you not build it out of steel knowing that it is much stronger than wood? Was it because you can not afford steel and you used what money you have to build what you have? Same case for these people. Any of them would take what we have BUT THEY CAN NOT AFFORD IT.
