Absolutely FED UP with Ubot(and clones) Which programming language should I learn??

C# - lots of people use this, its easy to get started if you are a Windows user and intend to run it on Windows boxen.

Java - my particular fav, has (arguably) more powerful tools than C# and is not limited to Windows boxes, you can run Java anywhere like $0.002/hr Linux VPS's

Learning a programming language + libraries and API's required for browser automation is not time efficient if all you want to do is build some seo bots for backlinks.

The reason you buy programs like zennoposter is not 'because automation cannot be done otherwise', it's because it saves you months of time.

If you want to make complicated bots for a living, and apply programming in other areas as well, then yes, definitely dive into the nuts and bolts of C# so you can make the best and most unique bots and applications that suit your needs perfectly.

But if you just want to build some bots so to automate some backlinks to your website, learning C# is an insane overkill and a total waste of time.

Remember that after you mastered the language, writing code and debugging also takes large amounts of time.

It's easy to look at a coding task from afar and say 'yeah, i'll just do this and this, will take 10 minutes'. Trust me, in reality it will take 10 days. Been there, seen it, 100's of times.

You'll be spending the bulk of your time coding. While others will use zennoposter (even if it's buggy) and get the task overwith 10 times faster, and will apply their time in much more valuable areas (marketing, content, etc etc).

+1 for zennoposter.
You don't need any programming language to deal with it. a Basic knowlege in ubot means basic knowledge in zennoposter!
The good side about this is that if in the future you decide to create another software you can easily do so without the haslles of building the program from scratch.

I've got started with C# as that seemed to be the general consensus.. Finding it very interesting so far, made my first console app and my first windowsformsapp, very basic of course but I'm getting into it..

The reason I want to code is not to make a few backlink bots.

It's because I have many complex programs I want to write and Zenno/Ubot don't cut it for what I want to do. I want to know how to write software so that I can make bots for greatly varying functions. Anyway thanks for all the useful comments in this thread!

Great to see you've made a start, the reason I write my own bots is I can quickly achieve things that aren't possible with the bots/software currently available. I still evaluate the available options before I write something new, but more often then not I reach the J.F.D.I. point (just forking do it) and write it myself.

C# is a glorious language, believe me I started coding for Windows using Visual C++ and I still have nightmares from it. Now you've got your head around the basics, search online for examples of using the "WebBrowser" component. Don't get bogged down trying to "SendKeys" or manipulate the mouse, the most efficient way to do things is by injecting JavaScript using "InvokeScript".

If the website you are automating uses things like jQuery (everyone from Twitter to AddMeFast use it) then you too can invoke jQuery commands from C#.

Software written in c# for .net platform by people who do it for a living and spent thousands of hours developing it crashes on my system.
I will teach myself c# from scratch and build something better by myself.

I know this thread is hella old. I came across it while googling something..

I just had to say something. There isn't much you can not make in Ubot.. If you have "dreams" or "ideas" you want to make into reality, you can do it in ubot.

As far as programs crashing. I can vouch first hand. I have left programs i have created in ubot up for DAYS.. Must of time when there is "something wrong with ubot" its 10 out 10 times a problem with the logic/code. Every time i run into a problem and try to blame it on ubot. I give it some more thought and end up doing exactly what i wanted to do.. Let me also mention i only have pro edition. I have some come across apps made in ubot noone would have ever thought could have been.

Just my two cents on an old (BUT still relevant) thread.

If you have ubot, you need not look for anything else.. Just man up, stop blaming the software and get it done..
