I've heard that if you have SEO sites, it will be best for your rankings to not add it to webmaster tools. Is that true or not? Please, I really need this answer, also if people know why is wrong or not, explain it. I think that this question is really important for people who is doing black/white seo.

Thanks in advance!

You are bhw member from May 2010 made 331 post etc. Sorry to tell you but use searchbox and you will see what you ask is never ending story. I think it does not matter at all, i have all my site's submitted to GWM tools, no penaly etc. Hope this helps.

Wendetta,

I think you will find varying opinions on this. I think in general if you are just making a website to advertise your business or for some other regular purpose, you will be fine adding your site to WMT. There are some who believe that if you are up to no good and trying to manipulate rankings, that it isn't a good idea to add your site to WMT.

I haven't seen any tangible proof of that fact but I suppose it could be true. If you don't have anything to worry about I think it's a great tool for webmasters to improve their sites. Of course you can also get the information it provides from other paid services.

Best,

Shawn

I was toying with this idea the other day, as well as thinking about if they can track when you have multiple sites in one webmaster accounts, and monitoring the links between those sites.
I use multiple wbt accounts, but could they also check the cookies to see when I log out of one, and straight back into another?!
The mind boggles.

If you have a legit site, add it to GWT asap. It's a useful tool that lets you now if there is anything wrong with your website (malware attack, spammy links, etc).

As for other satellite sites and such - I wouldn't add them to GWT since there is no point.
