Hi All,

Am looking for a web developer for my mens' fashion e commerce. Is it necessary to find 2 separate developers for both front end and back end? or one developer can handle all. I have limited budget while I am trying to find the right solutions to do a good quality website. Do I have anything important need to careful? Please advise if you have any suggestions. Many thanks.

Are you going to build the site from the scratch? Probably your 'limited' budget has thousands dollars, right?
I'd recommend to start with one of those premade shopping carts with monthly fee, or if you have enough money buy lifetime license. If you go this route, you can do everything by yourself.
Or start with 'free' cart and pay to developer to build the shop, but it's about the same money.

Developer here with 10 years experience in the field. You can find a full stack developer that can do both backend and frontend stuff, but it will be very hard to find one that is a good designer as well and vice-versa. They will also be expensive. If the amount of job offers that I get without looking each weeks tells me anything their is a massive shortage of developers.

As stizerg stated, use a prebuilt cart. In my opinion magento blows. I've worked with it and will never work with it again. Perhaps look at something like shopify or some other hosted solution.

Generally I try to focus as much as I can on SEO when starting a new business. Granted I can code everything I need, but I am not a designer. I'll go with a cheap template off of templatemonster that gets the job done and pour everything else into SEO. I assume if it makes money I can always go back and get a real designer. Just some food for thought.

It depends a lot on what you need and on your budget. Can you share a little bit more?
