I was just wondering the best way to SEO a phpbb3 forum. Also, are there alternate ways to draw people in? Just taking suggestions because I am so new to this. Thanks in advance!
From what I understand PHPBB3 is pretty well SEO'd already. Pretty open question. There's tons of ways to get traffic to it but it really depends what the forum is for? Who is going to use it? You'll need a plan to get users depending on your market.
I see what you mean. What I guess I was asking is ... are there methods used FOR phpbb3 to optimize SEO?
externally - build backlinks. Jump on oDesk (or similar outsourcing site) and find someone who builds high PR backlinks for cheap. I pay my guy $3 / hour. He's based in the Philippines and builds PR4+ backlinks. You could use Xrummer.. but I prefer high PR links, built slowly over time. Hitting #1 in google for my micro niches
I was lucky enough to think of a VERY popular topic that happens to have no forum of it's own at the time. As lame as the topic is, it should get good traffic. I know forums are hard to monetize, but if they get MASSIVE, there is a possibility, correct?
New to this forum so not sure if I can just link to sites or not. But if you search google for 'phpbb3 seo premod' that is what I recently installed on a forum I have been running.
well try to make the urls SEO'd well like yoursite.com/forum/new-trick-about-this rather than yoursite.com/forum/viewthread.php i think it will help i think there is a SEO'd PHP that is complete.
