About to create my first WP Site...

Just to let you guys know. I am very new to all this. Laugh at me if you like for asking dumb questions but I am here to learn. I have spent some time watching youtube videos that shows how to make a website using wordpress. Keep in mind that this will be a micro niche website using adsense. I already have a valid adsense account.

Here are some questions I have.

First, do I use wordpress.org instead or wordpress.com to create my site?

What seems to be a good theme for websites like this?

How many pages are recommended?

I wish I had more questions to ask. I will keep on reading the forums and hope that someone helps me out. I am so eager to learn, just a little confused.
 
Advertise on BHW
You hould have a domain name and a web hosting account, then go to wordpress.org, download wp and install it into your server.

When you have all that you can come back and ask again.

Don't even think of using wordpress.com to setup micro niches, you're gonna be baned in a flash.
 
Get your own domain and hosting. Unlimited hosting is pretty cheap and you can be up and running quick!
 
BTW, congratulations on your decision to take action. Please be sure to keep learning and working. Even if your questions are noobish, it's always nice to see people take action. Keep it up man!

Just a point...if you have your own hosting then most will auto install wordpress through the control panel.

saves you alot of hassle
 
Thanks for all the positive comments. It really makes it easier for me to keep working and learning. I currently have a VPS. I am planning to buy Market Samurai today and find a micro niche, then buy a domain and upload it to my VPS. After that, I will download wordpress into my hosting account. I wish I had more time, I have to post this while I work on my regular job. I wont be able to work on it till later tonight.

Why would you buy Market Samurai if it`s shared here for free?

You can't run AdSense on wordpress.com hosted blog so your only option is to download WordPress from wordpress.org and install it on your own domain.

Any theme will do as far as your AdSense placement (above the fold) & blending (ad's background should be the same as your site's background) are good.

You will need to have a website domain and servers where you are hosting your websites, if you don't already have those, there is many cheap places where you can get those.

Secondly, you will need to make your own blog, because you cannot host your own adsense ads on wordpress.org, download that script/software and install it to your host. After that you can add your own ads there and make a nice blog, but after that you will need to get visitors in there, you will need to get high google ranking, but thats why you are here right?.

About those you can get all information from these forums, just make research and if you have some extra money, there is many people who will get your google rank up, if they get paid for it.

I've been reading a lot and I think the next step for me is to take action. I feel that it will be the only way to learn the whole process. I learn faster by trying things out and learning from mistakes I create along the way.

Also, I do not really want to download any of the software here. I dont mind paying the $97 to get a legit copy.

I currently have a VPS where I will be hosting my domain, is godaddy a good place to buy domains?

Also, do you recommend buying a .info domain compared to a .com? Its a lot cheaper.

You can't go wrong with NameCheap. A lot of people here hate GoDaddy. Personally I haven't got any problems with them.

.com is the best for SEO and from the second year you will be paying the same so...

Gotta agree with online godfather here.Taking action is alright but you gotta make sure you enough so youdont end up wasting time in the long run. my advise would be to look for ebooks on this topic. Any decent ebook should provide you with answers to most of the questions you have. An ebook i recommend here is the ad-sense 100k blueprint.

just search that on this forum and you should be able to find the thread in which it was shared.

I'd rather donwload market samurai from here and then spend $57 on scrapebox, but it's your call.
 
Are you using a managed vps or unmanaged VPS?
It is a linux or win VPS?
If you a total noob I will suggest you to go with a share or a reseller hosting account.

For domains:
You can check namecheap, internetbs, 1and1 etc.

Market samurai:
Try the trial MS first. Install it and then extend it from here

Its a managed VPS with Cpanel from knownhost. Thanks for all the info!

I plan on buying Market Samurai and scrapebox to start off. I have a lot of work to do, I will be reading and watching a lot of videos.

I am so busy these days, I have a full-time job from 6am-3pm, then I run a business on the side and I do that from 4-7pm, now I will be researching with whatever time I have left. I have to make time for the GF and gym time in there as well :18:

I need to make minimum $50-60 a day to quit my full-time job. Hopefully by working hard at this I can do that soon.
