I just read in a post that About, Privacy, FTC Disclosure, Contact pages increases search engine optimization to a certain extent. My website has none of this and its ranking about 10 KWs in top 10 with only about one backlink. Those 10 KWs are getting me an ok (for a beginner) amount of traffic, and im slowly dominating more KWs. I strengthen one KW im not doing to well on and rank it to the first page of google every week.

Would these extra About, Privacy, FTC Disclosure, Contact pages help boost the ranking of these other KW serps or is this more of a MNS thing?

My website is an authority site with only one article (yea, i know, its an image website) but multiple categories which rank for their targeted keywords. Although on a small scale, my traffic im receiving from Google seems to be going exponentially.

I will add articles as soon as i figure out how to add certain tagged articles to certain pages within wordpress.... until then, im ranking using only /key-word-in-url/ and Title Tags.

Nerfsmurf,

If you have mostly an image site, your best bet to increase your position in SERP's and rank for more keywords is to generate more content. Having About, FTC disclosure, privacy and contact pages increase your ability to put more content out there but in general there is really no magic to having these pages on your website. I would focus on generating quality content in the form of more articles as well as other basic on and offsite SEO tactics.

Check out this article that talks about generating quality content,

This article talks about how content influences search engine ranking factors,

hope this helps,

Thanks for the input! I decided to not add the pages after all. And looking at my serps, if i add some images to a category, the category ranks in google's top 5 positions, but if I dont add images to that category, they slowly fade into the oblivion. I'm gonna add Category related articles and remove facebook comments and add regular commenting system, hopefully that will also count as "new content" and kinda help the serp until i can manually add more content!! Thanks again!

Edit: Just read your article, said that what I said above (comment thing) is no good xD, damnit.

FTC disclosure? Why that should be on Non US niche sites? I do agree that privacy policy and about page adds trust. I am quite skeptical with the FTC one, I don't know how that applies to every site outside US or say in EU etc.
