I've been drafting a post for over 3 hours, only to click the BBCode toggle, then got hit with the screenshot below.

S91AIvs

Tried all possible approaches with l=noluck. Things have tried to get the post of;
  • I've tried loading the post on a new tab; The preformatted texts are still missing.
  • Copying the whole text and pasting it to a new post editor - Got poorly formatted.
Anyone with the idea of fixing this, please?

Was there any code? I have got this error before when I tried posting linux related code. Upon inspecting the console, it seemed to me that cloudflare thought I was trying to hack bhw or something lol. This is why I first write everything in a note, then copy paste before posting (if not an usual mindless crap post :D).

Perhaps it is still recoverable. Try opening dev tools -> go to application tab -> click on local storage on the left pane-> expand by clicking blackhatworld.com -> see the keys and values in there. If the data is still there, it will be visible in one of those key/value pairs.

I create my posts onto Wordpad then paste into BB and edit etc before making it live.
Do what he says or even Google Doc or note+++ or anything else so you have record or access it if your computer or something else crashes when possible.

Oops I see now that you do have the data. If so, could you post the console message (error) you are getting (please leave out any sensitive data)? That should help to point out the exact text that is causing the error.

I do have Google docs opened with the original text, pasting on the text editor only to have it pre-formatted with lines, list, centering, and all.

Thank you, man Could have made you proud only if I didn't paste a line that only got recovered under "fr-copied-text" using the latter approach.

I do have the original copy. But would be losing the format made with text editor if there are no proffered solution.

I see makes sense now then.

Maybe you can inspect element and find the content in the textarea of the post?

I usually avoid BB code and paste in text editor. I don't think if xenforo keeps backup of formatting. So it's better to manually format it again instead of waiting for a solution.

arggh unfortunately it doesn't seem to show the exact error. What happens if you click on >> more options -> click on the [ ] button in the right panel? Do you see the source code of your post?

On a related note, this is a big issue with BHW's editor. I really hope the admins fix it. We cannot post any real code in the editor. It will not let us do so. cc @Diamond Damien

I've had this issue before too, I believe it was with some JS code. The server probably detects it as an attempt to inject some code or something..

It seem this where the problem is coming from @Gogol

That makes sense. Perhaps use jsfiddle for the code and just link the fiddle in your post. As of now, I don't see another way. :(

I've raised it with the dev team. Someone will get back to your soon. Moved to forum Suggestions and Feedback.

Code:
You can still add code lines - but we check what's going in there to avoid any malicious code, either by design or by accident.

Obviously, we're going to kick it out if it's code that may impact the forum.

Could you please raise a support ticket so we can communicate with you and keep a log as we have investigated this and can not find a post you were drafting for 3 hours constantly. We have found one you were drafting for about an hour but want to ensure we are not looking at the wrong data.
