"The l.facebook.com is a form of traffic that has been redirected through Facebook through what is known as a link shim. A link shim is a tool that was created by Facebook in 2008 and protects Facebook users from malicious URLs." Ironic..

    Understanding Link Shims
If social traffic is important to your ecommerce store, you should be checking referral traffic stats in Google Analytics to see how many visits are coming from social media sites.

When it comes to breaking down Facebook, there’s a referral source that some marketers have found confusing. They are called ‘link shims’ and they show up like this:

    What Are Link Shims?

The ‘l.facebook’ and ‘lm.facebook’ represent referrals that were directed through a link shim.

eMonetize - You, in my opinion, do not understand what the topic of discussion is about. It's not about what i.facebook is. It's about how to use such redirects to spam off offers banned from Facebook.
