About Google+ and SEO

I have never really messed with Google+ nor really ever understood it, does it have some influence over SEO or even a lot? I have noticed certain search terms in Google that rank high have Google+ stuff listed under them, like one search for example lists a site rank 1 and has something like this listed under it " by John Miller - in 65 Google+ circles - More by John Miller " is this important or not? Can someone explain this?

It's author credit, it doesn't effect your SERP rank (afaik) but it does increase the CTR (or so I'd think, I often click the pages with author credit). Here's the info you're looking for:

After 4-5 years, Google+ metrics would be more important than PageRank !

From my experience I can tell that social signals like G+ INCREASE serp position nowadays. Give it a try, spend 5$ you know where and you will see for yourself. At least for me it works.

Is G+ more dangerous though... might need better proxies.
