In addition to the domain name nd the web hosting service, eCommerce software, the payment gateway, product page nd security features will also be required. starting your online store via shopify or woocommerce would be quite easy for starters, I guess.

Besides a domain and hosting, you will need an eCommerce platform like WordPress with WooCommerce or Shopify..a good theme...product images and descriptions...and a payment gateway. Start with a simple setup and add features as your store grows.

You need a platform to build your website. Most users choose wordpress. But you may need to learn a little bit of coding like HTML and CSS in order to know/understand what you're doing.

before giving any response can you design a good E-commerce website if you can't just pay someone to get the domain and hosting for you and work on the website because it not just about the steps but how to go about them

You'll find step by step guides on YT. You can choose either woocommerce or shopify depending on your budget. Shopify is a bit easier to work with if you're an absolute beginner.

Hey! Taking your shop online is an awesome move.

Besides the domain and hosting you already know about, the main piece you need is an e-commerce platform. I'd definitely recommend going with WordPress and the WooCommerce plugin honestly. It gives you full control over your shop and makes it super easy to set up payment options like Cash on Delivery right out of the box. You'll also need an SSL certificate from your hosting provider to keep the site secure.

To actually put it together, you just install WordPress on your hosting account, activate the WooCommerce plugin, pick a clean free theme, and start uploading your product photos and prices. Just remember to run a quick test order yourself before sharing the link with anyone.

First question before anything else, where are you selling?

This changes everything about what you actually need.

Local only (same city or area)
You don't even need a full ecommerce setup. A simple WordPress site with a WhatsApp button or a contact form is enough. Customers see your products, message you, you sort delivery. Low cost, fast to set up, no payment gateway headaches.

Countrywide
Now you need proper ecommerce. A platform, a payment gateway, a shipping integration, and a clear returns policy. WooCommerce or Shopify both handle this well. You will want to connect a local payment method your customers actually use.

International
More complexity. Currency conversion, international shipping rates, customs and duties handling, and trust signals for buyers who have never heard of you. Shopify handles most of this better than WooCommerce out of the box.

Once you know that, here is what you need beyond domain and hosting
- An ecommerce platform (Shopify for speed, WooCommerce for control and cost)
- A payment gateway (Stripe, PayPal, or whatever is standard in your market)
- SSL certificate (most hosts give this free now)
- Product photos that actually show what you're selling
- A shipping and returns page

Start with where you are selling. That answer tells you exactly how simple or complex your setup needs to be.

Is it mandatory to have SSL for website Security?

If can't do it then I will find a web designer for do the work

You need more than domain & hosting, you need a platform like shopify/woocommerce, payment gateway, product pages, basic seo & a clean UX, easiest path is use shopify or wordpress plus woocommerce, upload products, connect payments & launch

You will need an ecommerce platform like Shopify or WooCommerce, then add your products, payment method and shipping setup.

You can just open an online store in Shopify with their domain and learn from it how to list the products, shipping policy, payment gateways, and other technical factors. In shopify its so user-friendly to list the products and with themes. Also, there are some paid themes available if you like it use it or else go with free themes only for a start

After some successful sales and experience, you can build the site with Wordpress platform

SSL is basicaly a must nowaday, especialy for ecommerce. It protect customer data nd also build trust when people are entering payment details on your site.

Since you already have a physical shop start with a simple store that clearly shows your products prices delivery details and payment options. Keep the setup basic until you know what customers actually need.

Try Shopify or Wordpress, hire a developer to list your products make a complete ecommerce website, other than this you can use Amazon business and facebook Marketplace to sell your Items, you dont need a website for that.

You can hire a service to design a custom website exclusively for you; just tell them what you need and they will fulfill all your requirements.
Yes, but sometimes, things gets quite difficult building an ecommerce website if the client has zero knowledge on the marketing and development, for them selling through amazon is best options
