About com Backlinks Anyone?

Hi,

I'm about to try to rank an article for a pretty decent CPC keyword, and would like to start off with only the best most authoritative links. So, I thought of About com. Have any of you got a backlink from there? If yes, how did you manage to get it?

I vaguely recall being able to put a link in your user account profile on there a few years back. Not the best quality link though, and it's probably not possible still. Is it a contextual link you're after?

If you are working hard to get a backlink from top authority site then you should focus of a contextual backlink. Well i don't know how to get a backlink from about.com but if i don't get a contextual link i won't actually bother.

Yes, I'm only after contextual links. So, what I want is for somebody who regularly writers for About.com to publish an article with a link back to the article on my site.

Since I created this thread, I've actually done some research and I found some kind of a blogger who claims he has got multiple backlinks from About.com by simply offering free articles for About.com guides.

It may be a good idea to contact one of the editors to check with them on how to have a link back.

Some of the companies that post on their have link submission forms. You could try that out. Your site would have to be relevant though.
