If the channel has good views authority then its a good thing, doesn't matter if you change niche, yes you will lose subscribers however since your channel is already there in the algo, YouTube will suggest your videos to the right audience, YouTube will reset the suggested viewers, so in your case from gaming niche viewers to "crypto/finance/money making" niche viewers and you will eventually get new subscribers.

important- you can not hide the gaming videos, if the channel is monetized, because the videos will be having the 3-4k watch hours and if you make it private then the watch hours also will be deducted and then channel will get de-monetized, so hide videos in such a way that you still have 4k hours left.
