A warning about Globat registrar. Scam.

Just registered an emd a while ago done through domainsarefree.com ( thought i found a nice (backed by www.globat.com and inexpensive registrar...$3.99 for .net .com .org)

Lo and behold.....when I thought I was "successfully" registered (the Thank you page your card has been charged) + an sms notification from my bank of the payment. Well,...my emd domain is STILL available for registration when I checked with other registrar and my emain notification/ whatsoever was never send to me by Globat. Contacted their rep they said will get back to me soonest..lol. Even when I tried to email back the transcript of my complain several times...it was NEVER send. THey're really good. Scammed you cleaned without leaving any evidence!!
Well, except for my bank notification record. Where to file for domain registrar fraud?

Looks like they have been doing stuff like that for years now.. I've read that some people have succeeded to get a refund but I would suggest you to contact your bank or credit card company to cancel the payment.

By the way, this is on their Terms of Service:

3.1 Customer acknowledges that from time to time, but not more than twice per calendar quarter Globat may automatically provide Customer with upgrades, new products, and new services that Globat introduces and Customer agrees that Globat may bill Customer for such products and services on the credit card, checking account or other form of payment Customer has provided and that is on file with Globat to pay for ongoing services. Customer understands and agrees that there is no purchase obligation and that Customer will have 30 days after receipt of any new products and services to cancel such additional products or services by opening a Billing Ticket at http://support.globat.com/ticket/ and put 'Cancel Additional Service' in the subject field for a full refund.

You might want to follow your e-mail and account closely so they don't bill you for "additional services".

Yeah it's not the first time for sure... but your bank will reverse it no problem if you sign the papers you need to.

Wow...they are still around? I had a few domains (and hosting) with them 7 years ago....they started screwing around so I dropped them

Called up my bank to invalidate the payment, thank God it was so. Globat has the nerve to ask me to fax my credit card number + statement over to prove...lol like I'm gonna give' em my card number after this whole fiasco!!
