a very stupid question about Adwords

When doing keyword research there is a graph that in this case show about 22k searching throughout the months

At the bottom there is the keyword, tablet, which shows only 4400.

Which number do I look at to know how much a keyword is searched.

Yes it is a stupid question and it is probably hidden in some Youtube video, but why the difference
