Hi,

Phone calls can be quite intimidating at a first sight. Here is a quick tips that a lot of marketers are using. It will appear very stupid for everybody, until you try.

Always set the speaker on. Never talk sticked to the phone, talk to the whole room where you are, and you will see immediately that your voice is louder and stronger.

Wouldn't this be annoying to the caller? I know I can tell a distinct difference when I'm speaking to someone who put me on speaker... and I don't like it.

Putting on the speaker makes your voice distorted.Better speak with motion and actions. You can speak more authoritatively when you move your arms as talk to a person who's next to you. Believe me ,I tried it.

Good idea, but maybe use something simple like the iPhone headset/mic. That way you're free to roam, you're not "talking into" the phone, and the mic picks you up clearly without all the surrounding room noise. Meh, just an idea.

i prefer speaking on the earpiece rather than the speaker as you are not sure on the clarity of the call. You could try both ways but i guaranty you that you will see better results this way

What a great idea. I hate talking on the phone so this might just work for me. I never thought about this.

I do this all the time, and this is REALLY effective I can tell you that. Also good for getting over stage fright i.e. talking to a client or employer

I see the bonus of roaming the room - as a public speaker, moving your body unlocks your energy, check out Elliot Hulse's physiology stuff, but yes, use say, iPhone earphones with a mic instead of just being far from your phone.

Good to see referance to Elliot Hulse. The guy has a great channel full of fantastic info:

As others have said, I'd for for the headset. I need to invest in one myself.. I strongly dislike having the phone glued to my ear. Especially on those long sales calls where you begin to get covered in sweat haha.
