One of my microniche sites has been earning a a small amount(1-2$) a day. Today it has apparently earned 14 dollars. This seems strange and has me worried.

Why are you worried? Where is the change, CTR, CPC or increased traffic? Maybe just your SERP rankings got somehow better and traffic increased.

I would rather not get my adsense banned. But it's just strange as I have a really low CTR. I'm also already holding the no 1 spot for my keywords.
 
Then everything it's ok,maybe someone clicked a high paying ad.Don't worry ;)
