A Time for Reflection ...
As 2013 draws to a close, it is time to reflect on the year.
How have YOU done? Have YOU been successful? Have YOU had a Great Year?
I hope so and congratulate YOURSELF if YOU did well, but if not, then it is time to face reality and be honest with YOURSELF.
YOU are in YOUR current position because of the choices YOU made.
YOU are where YOU are today because of the decisions YOU took.
If YOU are unhappy with YOUR life, then make better decisions.
Unless YOU live in a Totalitarian State or live under a Dictatorship/Military regime (even then YOU have the choice to fight for YOUR freedom) then it is time to take stock and start making the choices that will make YOU a success.
The day YOU have no choices left to make, is the day YOU die.
YOU can try making excuses or blaming other people for the reason YOU aren't a success (trust me, I have tried) but the true reason is that YOU made the wrong choices.
The last 10 years have been a disaster for me but I can't blame anybody else.
When I was a teenager I seemed to get into a lot of trouble. I remember my Head of Year calling me to his office yet again.
Before he could start talking I was already trying to weasel my way out of it by blaming others. He stopped me and asked me "What is the Common Denominator?" (He was also a Maths Teacher), I kind of mumbled and shrugged my shoulders until he replied "YOU!". I then realised what he was trying to say, it didn't matter who I had got into trouble with, I was the one getting into trouble. It is one of the few life lessons that have stayed with me from school. Be a Man and face up to YOUR actions.
We all make bad decisions but we need to learn from them and not make the same mistakes next time.
Only YOU can change YOUR life, so don't blame other's for the way YOU feel.
As 2014 starts, forget about making half-arsed New years resolutions and make some real plans and goals to change YOUR life for the better.
2014 Will be MY best year ever, what about YOU?
