Ok, say you are dropping links on forum signatures. Now if you do a single post, then g* sees one post, and is happy to give you credit.

If you do more than one post, g* sees the same sig and anchor text, and says ok, this is planed link and not natural.

If I am write, only do a single post. This assumes that your profile box does not show to g*. If it does, might as well set up a profile, and call it a day (?!).

Feedback?

I am saying would google devalue multiple links to the same page with the exact same anchor from one domain. Signatures are exactly that. If one has 1000 pages with their sig, goog will figure that, and discount it.

So I am "speculating" that having ONE post on a forum is more effective than a 1000 post from backlink standpoint. Feedback?

you are speculating wrong then! I have quite a few results from posts on some forums...just depends on how topical the forum, the post subject, and the post are to the search.

don't try to over think things. google knows how forums and blogs work (the comment aspect being effectively the same) and are not going to 'hurt' you for making posts.

there is truth in that each successive link or post/signature from a site will have less and less 'juice'.

so post as little or as much as you want.

Your question is not clear at all. But if I understand what you said, Google can identify forums. So Google will not penalize you for posting 100 posts in a forum. You will get SEO benefit and also referral traffic from signature posts.
