a simple question about wordpress

hi guys I'm sorry if this question is too noobish. Anyways, according to wordpress;

"Adding a domain to your WordPresscom is a paid upgrade; registering and mapping a new domain to your account costs $14.97 a year, while mapping a domain you already own to your WordPress blog costs $9.97 a year."

I bought a domain 3 months ago and planning to use it using wordpress. My question is, aside from renewing you domain name, do you still need to pay $9.97 a year if you plan to use this platform? I'm really confused.

Yes you need to pay $10 to them for using your domain.

For the domain itself you will need to pay yearly + you need to pay for hosting or you can use free one, but i advice you to get cheap but paid as first hosting you can try hostgorator or use any from bhw provider. Wordpress as a platform is free to use and you can find lot of free premium themes shared here on bhw.

I already have my domain from namecheap. What I wanted is to use this domain using wordpress, so I can use their hosting for free?

wodpress is just a script. no need for "wordpress hosting" just install it yourself. it takes 10 minutes to install and is very easy.

so I'm not going to pay any aside from the domain that I bought from namecheap when I use wordpress?

Not if you have your own hosting.

If you don't have hosting, go buy it or use free one (not recommended).

you have to pay for domain and hosting. If u use free hosting then its ok u dont need 2 pay for hosting

Ok I got it now, so if I have 5 domains from them and it costs $10 for each of them, then I'm going to pay $50 a year?
