A Scam On Instagram. Must Read!

I have been looking around & adding people to my IG and the other day. I caught on to people who would be flashing a sh*t ton of money. In their bio, they would be encouraging people to text them to find out more about the opportunity. Now, because I am always a curious guy. I take the bait. Wondering if it was MLM or just some hipster looking to build whatever.

These instagram accounts are claiming that if you buy a PayPal My Cash or go to Money Gram. They are representatives who can add a zero to whatever you send, so if you send $200.00, they'll send you $2,000. Actually, I got something better and you can see for yourself. Go to Google, type in this number. This is the first one: 404-947-4583 & the other one is privately messaged to you once you fall for the bait.
I kid you not.

I should upload the text messages but I am on my PC. In fact, I think I'll do that when I am on my phone. It's a trip. Makes me wonder how many people are falling for this crap.

I did the same thing you did, because I'm curious and want to learn how they are scamming people. They always say that it's legal but nothing about what they say they can do for you, even sounds legal, lol. Even if they did work for these card companies and can "hook" you up with an extra zero, it's still not legal.

I texted a couple of them out of curiosity and they always say that it's easy money. I told them if it's so easy, why do you need my money to do it, when you can use your own? And that's usually when the conversation stops, lol.

Well there are a lot of gullible people out there who will fall for that shit.

Hiding behind the computer. I get irritated knowing people who will give their last just to be at rock bottom with no recourse.
Beware and hopefully we save just a few who might have some common sense to Google and do some due diligence.

There are lots of scammers outside. Be careful in transactions.

Scammers... they will do anything to let you believe they are going to make you cash. There are so many people out there that have no idea these guys are scamming and people really need to learn about this!

Yeah seen many of those scams cropping up, hard to believe people fall for this crap but unfortunately they do.

That scam is really old. But as new social media sites become more and more popular these people will flock to them and just adapt their scam. A bigger audience means more people to scam. That's horrible but that's how scammers work.

It's been around for years. Once your account hits 10k+ legit followers (if IG hasn't banned you yet) and it's main focus is that, you could be getting a couple customers per day. So easy few thousand dollars per week. Honestly, anyone who falls for that deserves it. It just screams scam. You'd be as bright as a rock if you believe it...

A better way to social engineer people are the drug instagram accounts. They advertise they're selling pills, weed, cocaine, etc. whatever and say it's just like the darknet. Except.. they advertise in public. People fall for it, because as soon as you take a picture of the actual substance next to the person's username written down on a piece of paper, it seems much more legit than the money flipping thing. Plus, a lot of people suddenly crave the substance if they see they can get it with overnight shipping, risk free... and most of their logic goes out the window. Another thing. People aren't afraid to do this, because what, the customer will report you to the police? And admit that they themselves tried buying drugs off of a social media platform? Even just delving deeper into this, based on the category of the substance it's incredibly easy to get away with it. For example anything on blotter, you don't even need the substance. You can buy blotter paper online for $10. Welcome to the art of conning.

It's funny to me that people would even fall for that. Aren't they thinking, "Why wouldn't this person just add zeros to their own accounts?"

People dumb enough to fall for this probably don't even have 37p to their name.

It just shows you that are so many gullible people on the internet. A lot of marketers take advantage of this and promote diet/MMO products that promise you "xx" results if you buy "xx".

And the top guys doing this are banking $50k-$100k a day with cpa.

They prey on giving people false hope. Selling the visual of all these hundreds in your hand. Saving the world.

This has been going on for almost 2 years now.

I actually know someone that did this for about 2 month (lost his job).

I wont say how much he made but it was enough for him to live.

Like everything else in life its just a numbers game, you put it in front of x amount of people and y amount will fall for it.

Yea, they've been abusing the hell out of that scam on fb last year.
It was most oftenly seen on a profiles with pics of big boobs. Those guys stare at those and will do just about anything, thinking with the other head.
They just keep falling for it, which is very bad & sad.
