I had always heard about the importance of SEO. During my years as a web/software developer, clients, year by year, began asking me more and more about the significance of SEO. I honestly did not know, so I did some basic research on what the services entailed. I recognized the basic efforts that were performed, and the potential positive benefits.

Not until coming across this forum, and out of sheer necessity, have I realized just howdeep it all goes. By delving into articles within this forum, I've become inspired to learn as much as I can.

I must admit, all this information is quite a lot to sift though. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide some kind of direction; somewhere to start -- even a task to help with the practical application of the concepts I encounter.

Anyways, it is nice to meet everyone.

I remember when I first found BHW I just read and read for 2 week straight for many hours everyday.

I think you should just look around and TAKE NOTES (something I did not do when I first started)

I would recommend you learn SEO and not mess with other money making methods. After you learn SEO your pretty much set for life, just have to put a site up and rank it.

You may read all of the large threads about SEO and BH and compare it with some of the new suggestions, guides etc. in the BH forum, after a few weeks it all makes sense and you may realize that it isn't that difficult to find out what it takes to get your site rank better than now!

Thanks for the input. I've been reading, while taking notes, and have come across the money making tricks. They seem intriguing, but I get the feeling it may not be the route to dedicate my time to. At this point my main interest is to learn SEO. Although I did begin to conjure up some desires of experimenting with both the White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO.

Anyways, thanks again for the advice.

I had the same perspective too. Online Marketing is very deep indeed, and it is growing ever more influential with each passing day.
