Hi, im new here and i got a quick question.

Im promoting "Panic Away" product on clickbank and theres a problem.

On my website thats almost finished, I picked a bad main domain keyword... it has too much competition. So im asking if i should continue with it and add some good keywords on my site or should i buy a good, less competitive, domain name/keyword and start over?

I assume the "bad" main keyword is related.

Just go for it. Use less competitive keywords for your post/page titles. Target those to get your posts or pages ranked instead of the domain.
In the end the result is the same: traffic.

For SEO it's good to have your keyword in the url. With posts or pages you have just that. And with a related keyword as a bonus (your bad choice keyword).

I know a couple of guru's and the Sniper Method tells you to have the exact keyword in the domain for best results.
That may be, but doesn't mean you can't rank if that's not the case. It's just one of the many aspects of SEO.
 
keep building on your site for the less competitive long tailed versions of that keyword. You can build some nice traffic that way and eventually you may rank for your main keyword. Just keep working at it.

Its not really a matter of the cost of a domain name. Its about finishing what you started. If you get discouraged every time you run into what looks like a challenge, you will not make it far in this game. Are there going to be keywords that are out of your reach? absolutely. But if the main keywords are that competitive, it tells me there is probably good money to made off of the long tailed versions. Rarely does one succeed overnight. If you are looking for easy you should probably just give up altogether. Making money and succeeding online is simple, but it does require effort and the ability to finish what you start.

Just my two cents. Take it for what you will. Good luck.

Yeah thats what i tought.. I shoud stick with it and finish it, and maybe ill rank somewhere instead of givin up hehe .. aight thnx alot u guys
 
Real meaningful amounts of traffic comes from hitting multiple medium-long tail keyphrases, not just one keyphrase. If you're getting hung up about one keyphrase, you're doing it wrong. Stick with it and hit all those juicy long tails with your sub pages!
 
What exactly do you mean by "multiple medium-long tail keyphrases"?

I dont really understand. . .
 
It means don't focus on just one keyword at a time.

When you build a site, you should have a whole list of long tail keywords you're aiming to hit with your internal pages. You'll rank decently for some and not for others, but overall, significant traffic volume and traffic stability comes from ranking for lots and lots of (probably long tail) keyphrases at a time, not just one single keyphrase that you're targeting on your home page.
 
Oh yeah like lets say "anxiety cures" is a good keyword, then i make an atricle or hire a freelancer? If yeah then where can i find freelancers for hiring?

Then if everything is going accordingly to plan, i will upload my articles to ezine and squidoo and hubpages and that should get me ranking right ?:D

And then maybe ill get some commisions and try everything over agin:D:D:D
