A quick question about blog titles

Which is the best way to make your blog title, general niche or niche specific?
for ex, 'lawnmowers.blogger.com' or 'howtorepairlawnmowers.blogger.com'

I have heard both ways, and was wondering the pros and cons of each. Any help you folks can provide would be appreciated.

Well you can go general niche and just break up your site into smaller niches of the main niche. Unfortunately can't really do this with blogspot, but you could how ever create blogs for smaller niches and have them link to your main niche blog. Also put dashes in between your keywords on your title, in my experience it's better for SEO

The problem with blogspot URLs is they are already long with the .blogspot.com so if you can find a short word that can be your keyword phrase, it helps.

Well the prob with blogspot mainly is your running a subdomain, which is a lot harder to rank as opposed to buying your own domain. Not o say it can't be done, i mean look at about.com for example, all they have are subdomains, yet they all rank extremely well, it's just gonna take a lot of hardwork and backlinking to get there, but you can do it amigo

Honestly, I'd just drop the "how" and the "to" and just keep it repairlawnmowers.blogspot.com

Regardless, I've found that my URL has little to do with my ranking. Ultimately, it's been the backlinks, the content, and the quality/quantity of it.
