a question for the programmers -google position

Hi,
I started to work on a black hat software that will help build backlinks by copying the link pattern of your competition according to the kw they rank for.
I need some info, if you maybe have information on that, on how to get the google position in any local google for a certain keyword.

I've read about the SOAP API, but it requires a google API key and can do only 1000 searches a day.
Any other ideas or options?

If you ever look at the source code of a Google search, it's obfuscated so that writing a scraper for Google is extremely hard.

It really depends on your skill level. If you're using the .NET Framework (VB.Net or C#) then I highly recommend something called the HTML Agility Pack. It can parse HTML, making it much easier to mutate or scrape.

The easier answer would be to use the WebBrowser control. It's basically a component that gives you an interface to a website, while still allowing the user to click on buttons, click links, etc.. If you're using C#/VB.net, then it's a default component. If you're using another language, such as Delphi, then they also provide a similar component. Programs like SENuke use this to view Google results and add their own code.

As for using the Google SOAP API - You'll need a key, and if you're planning on distributing your application, then a key is NOT recommended.

And know this - EVERYTHING g00gle does is obfuscated. Their source code is a real trip to look through (so is their API for that matter).

You might want to take a look at Jeff Heaton's books too. I just finished reading his C# Bots book, very educational.
