Guys i have a question for you.
I amfrom a small country of 6M people.
Now, i want to make a site for my country in my language.
What i want to ask is about getting my site to the first page of google.
Lets say that there are not a lot of high PR sites in my language for my niche
where i can get some backlinks.
So what i would like to know is if it will be smartdo get some backlinks from
high PR sites from different countries like US/UK?
I mean, probably %90 or even more of the sites that rank higher then me are
only getting backlings from my country, and maybe if i can get some .gov or
high PR backlings from the US/UK sites google will rank my site higher and faster.
What do you say guys? is it a smart thing to do?
Cause if that can work out then i can kill my compettition faster i believe.
Looking forward to hear your opinion:)

I don't see any problem with getting *relevant* links from sites that are outside your country. We don't know your language, but if it is spoken outside your country, the most relevant links will be from other sites in that language that are outside your country. If there are no such sites, the external backlinks will carry less weight from a relevancy perspective, but I still think you should be able to overcome your competitors with enough links.

We have gotten many links from other English speaking countries over many years and it has always helped our rankings for our English language sites.

Well my language is Hebrew, and there is only 1 country in the world that speaks it, lol.

Relevant anchor texts are what improve the rankings the most.

I would suggest you open Blogger blogs under multiple IDs and link back to your money site.

Do keep multiple articles/content on the Blogger blogs (don't appear spammy) or you will lose them!

I'm not aware of others... but might be other web 2.0 properties too allow blogs in Hebrew so check for that too.

Lets say my niche is video games.
Going to English video games forums with high PR and **************** links and then making
a signature like: top Israeli video games store, and hiper link it with my site, will this be
a smart and effective move?
If you can, please break it down a bit for me.
I have some keyworks in huge niches in my country and that only have 200k or so
exact results, and i believe i can rank on the first page for this keyworkds if i do my SEO
job the right way.

1) Get a domain with your country TLD
2) Get hosting from only your country
3) Get backlinks from relevant your contry websites
4) If the website is well-built and has good quality content, submit it to your news channel to get backlinks from relevant categories and do the social media things.

That should get your website ranking better and faster.

I already have a .com domail for my site instead of a .co.il domain.
And i also have a US hosting account and not from my country.
Is that a problem? i mean, can this be something that will effect my rankings?
Cause .com domain are the best for SEO and ranking right? and i never heard
of a problem that someone had with a foreign site on a US hosting account.

Anyone can bring some light on this thread?

simple answer? Get both and rank the hell out of both. I am not kidding at all. Never think "either/or" when it comes to SEO always think "all" Get as many key-worded links to as many key-worded urls as you can. Own the page. At the same time test the hell out of head lines, sales copy, location of opt-in box, opt-in bait and even color. That's how you start killing the competitors long term...

Sounds good, thanks Phil

- your site will load faster, because it host in your country
- physical location of your host server will have impact for websites.
for example, Google(dot)fr offer the option of either a French only or a world-wide search. In a French only search, Google then determines which sites to feature, based partly on the domain extension (.com/.fr etc) and also the physical location of the server.
So although you may have a website called http://www.yourdomain .fr, if your hosting company is based in UK, Google may well see your site as being UK, and it will not feature as prominently in a french wide search

just my 2 cents :)

For what it is worth, I see web sites in Hebrew from all over the world. Most are Temple or Israel news related, but there are a lot of them. You seem like a smart person, and I may be wrong, but I get the impression that what you want to do might be inappropriate for the congregations :), so maybe the best thing is to just build your own link pyramids in Hebrew for ranking for both the .com and the .il domains.

The thing is that the co.il domain is not available for the keywords that i want.
So my only option is to get the .com at the moment.
1 good thing is that the co.il doamin for this keywords is not on the first page on google
so i think i can get the .com on the first page and even on the first results.
I just tought thatit would be huge if i can do some backlings on US sites when all the other
sites in the first page get backlinks from Israeli sites with a lower PR then what i can get
from English websites.
I want to start my ranking campaign so if someone can just give me a small plan here
for my Israeli site it would be great!
Just a few steps that i need to do so i can get on the first result.
Thank you.

Buy 100 .gov and .edu backlinks from good source, ping them, throw some (around 10) articles in your language and stuffed with your keyword - here you go, you are in top 5 after 2 weeks easily!

Hebrew is one of the most spoken languages by population, so it wont be so hard
