I am wondering whether people online purchase products that cost $800+. I am a bit skeptic about this. so even if people purchase products above 800 price range then what is the max price for a product to be promoted via amazon sites. I mean is it 2k or 3k or 4k?
How much, I am asking this so that i do not make a website around an amazon product ie costs more than the benchmark price for affiliate marketers

Thanks

They do, but the conversion rate is less 1-2% instead of usual 5-7%

A lot of people buy expensive computers and TV's as well as other electronics that always cost more than $800

They do but you're going to see a much lower conversion rate on your traffic. I think it's nice to have a site with these products as some are low hanging fruit and a couple sales per month is nice but I prefer a mid priced item that I sell a LOT of because I make much more overall with these sites. Have both in your portfolio because the key to amazon that I've found is diversity of products means I always have something that is in demand, so I'm always making money.

yes i get it
00 to
but what is the benchmark rate for amazon product cost that is to be promoted. I think 500 to 800 is an ideal price. What do you all say?
I have a 5k plus costing product site on page 2 and i am wondering whether its worth it to push it up to page one or not?

thanks

What you need is sites for lower priced and higher priced products. When you promote lower priced items then people buy more (+ they buy random products) and you will get your commission % higher (cause it depends on how many items gets sold). And if people buy higher priced items less then you still get higher commission cause you have higher commission %.

Cheers

They buy everything but my proposition to you is to stick to lower price products and when it comes to some tech stick with professional niches like photography, fishing, hunting etc.

you would do well to go for lower priced items and try and get more sales per month. that way your base referral rate will increase. Also check what the limitations for payments per item are. For example i think laptops/computers are now $25 per sale (not checked that).

Another problem I found with higher value items is that people search for model numbers. So for a TV example you will need to keep adding the new model number to your site to get the search traffic and for me that made it hard to avoid duplicate content problems.

So what you all are sauing is that
I should continue seoing my site but put lowpruced items along with my main product. Btw, my site is a review site and its a nuyer keyword plus this product has positive reviews

Thanks

Well, there is definitely customers for higher priced items as well - just not as many as with low-mid priced items. I usually check the competition of the niche then take the average sale and multiply that with 0.08 - then I know how much I would get in commission per sale.

Let's say your items costs $800 on average. Now you take 800 * 0.08 which equals 64. Now you know how that you'll receive 64 dollars each time you sell one of your items. Depending on how many searches that niche receives, I set a goal for the website. I want it to earn me $300 a month - that's 5-6 sales a month.

Now after you've reached your certain goal, it might as well be $100 a month, you can flip it for some quick dough. Remember, this is only my strategy when I target low competition niches that I can rank without too much effort off-page. But

I hope this example gives you a clear picture - a few sales a month on higher priced items can earn you good, especially considering that niche sites often goes for 15-20x it's monthly earnings. :)

Best,
hekke

Yes, I normally sell between 1 and 5 a day over $800.00 from one site. It hovers around 2 as of right now. Will probably be 4 - 7 in the fall and winter. Maybe more. We'll see. Definitely target some cheaper items/low hanging fruit also to get your percentage up though.

You do sell them but the conversion rate is often lower. Depends on what kind of product it is as well... Tv's and common house holds definitely sell.
