I find survey posts that get people to vote for which category they belong in tend to get a lot of upvotes (i.e., do you like coffee or tea). People tend to feel passionate defending the categories they belong in. With one of my accounts I was able to get about 200 upvotes a day by making these types of posts.

If youre still having a hard time, try going to one of the subreddits that share new music. I usually hit up the metal one and get about 80 per video.

I posted one cute cat video to a cat subreddit
I got from 21 to 8k karma within 24hrs also the post got sliver rank stuff that I did not even understand
It also got top post of the day
Entered a subreddit for top 21 also before the mod deleted the post

I can't remember the specifics, but I think karma is usually upvotes - downvotes. With survey posts most of the votes you'll get are upvotes, so I'd say you'll be getting pretty close to 200 karma points.
