I added a link to my site which was ranked in the first page at google, now it is in the third page. Will the site return to the first page if I remove the link?

Sometimes is called google dance. It will need time to get stable position.

My site had a stable position for over a year. So there is a chance that the site will return to the first page?

There are few things i would like to ask
1 what kind of link it is ?
2 Is the link site wide link ?
3 Is it a paid link?
4 If it is a broken link?
I feel checking the health of the link you placed might help.
Given that your site is ranking for quite a time a link from a post on a single page should'n be a problem.

It may just be a co-incident coinciding with an update. Better wait for a while to see if your ranking returns.
