Hello everyone, I am certain that weeks of searching the internet I have found the right place to fulfil my dreams. I am currently working in the UK in the mortgage industry and to say my job is shaky would be an understatement!!!

What I am looking to do is to slowly build a steady income stream and be ready to pounce on it when the P45 arrives!!

I have had a few websites and blogs over the last few years and I am very proficient in HTML, ASP and other web programming languages. I have used Adsense and I have a Commission Junction account. What I am really struggling to do is monetise these.

I have tried all sorts of article submission, link building, traffic sharing and even spent a fair bit purchasing traffic. However all of this has earnt me a profit of £24 in a year. Obviously I am doing something extremely wrong!! I think my major issue is I am not getting the right traffic or no traffic at all!!

Would somebody be willing to hold my hand so to speak and show me step by step how to use the above to earn some money. I realise that I am not bringing a lot to the party here but I will share my results on this forum and step by step guides to help others. Maybe a kind of community project from scratch.

Alternatively, we can work on some kind of revenue split?

Anyhow, that's enough for now and any help would be most appreciated. I have read all of the guides on here from start to finish but I would really like some one on one help.

    Thanks

    G

Well my friend...I honestly think that you need to sell something that people are looking to buy..and reconsider who you vendors are....also accept the fact that people are going to most likely buy from authority sites..such as amazon..remember transparency=trust...

I also wanted to mention that it would not be such a bad idea to start building a good portfolio with Google Adwords..and check to see what words are making you some conversions..afterwards head on over to web2.o properties and use those same keywords that converted to sales on Google Adwords and get the best amount of targetted traffic what. I highly recommend if you can afford it..outsource the whole thing...when it comes to building content on web2.0 properties take a look around this forum and you will find affordable prices..Once again check to see if what you are trying to sell has enough volume on Google..and dont be afraid to survey your targetted audience when you thinking of selling an affiliate product...

And last but not least..people prefer to head on over to a local store to buy something that is worth 50-200 dollars..but when it comes to high ticket items..rest assured that they will most likely to look for better prices online..of course this is not always the case..so feel confident about yourself and make it happen grahamhead

Thanks positivenote, it was a real positive note.

I keep reading all of these posts about young ladies and gentlemen who are earning lots of money and I keep thinking to myself i've been in the Internet game for many years and I have not one zip of the knowledge they have.

I will continue to keep reading and hopefully try to put some of the practices that I see on the into action.

I have some legitimate accounts set up. Should I create new accounts to practice some of the black stuff I read on these forums?

What I have found is that having a well-designed site with lots of good content that is relevant is the best way to get traffic that is steady and targeted. As this is white hat it often takes time for a site like this to rise in the rankings but once it is on page one then monetising it should be easy. All you need is to have then are plenty of links to make money from affiliate programs.

My first site was made like this and at times I thought it would never take off but it now earns me a nice income, so don't quit before you give it a chance. I am now exploring black hat methods to speed things up with newer sites of mine.

grahmhead, you mentioned that you've tried some linkbuilding techniques to no avail. what does your traffic look like? i'm trying to get a sense if the issue has to do with traffic-gen, monetization, or something else (ie: niche focus). feel free to PM if you'd like to talk further.
