A new post or insert link to an existing post?

When you buy link on real and active sites, what do you think is best, a new post or insert link to an existing post? in terms of SERP..

I would always recommend you to go for a fresh content as it has the maximum benefit in terms of SERPs.
 
My suggestion is to go with the new post because, if you wish to get the secure backlink and the unique content then the new post would be a right choice. Also, it's getting the good SERP movement too...
 
I would also recommend to go with new post. It increases your authority potential.

Me too recommended for new content. Because why? Technically in Google point of view old contents has been previously crawled and indexed by Google. Google always loves fresh contents, It catches and index the fresh contents faster than old.
 
Google likes fresh and quality content. I would prefer the fresh content only, its good in term of SEO.

Having links on existing content will not get you much benefit than having fresh content IMO.
 
Just stick with new posts. Because old post link that has authority affects when re-post with the new links. Better to avoid the risk.

Like others said , fresh content is better. Only use existing old posts if they are high TF/CF PA..etc.
