A New Journey :

Hi,

I am going to be documenting my journey with this new venture starting today. Please comment, leave tips, etc if you have any ideas or want to JV, etc.

I have created a website 100Drums dot com

We sell custom drum machine flash drives to music producers, beat makers, hiphop heads, vinyl collectors etc..

I'm looking to expand the marketing reach.

So far I have:

twitter: @100Drums

On tumblr as of today I have 414 followers.
Instagram 1,372 followers
Twitter 2,166 followers

I have also made some posts on Facebook groups that are in the music production niche.

I am trying to come up with other ways to generate revenue from this so I created a "FREE" section on the website where they can download sounds and stuff using short.st which is a site where you can earn money from for shortening links.

So far I have 62 visits, with an astounding $0.12 made so far using the link shortening website.

Sold 56 flash drives so far with very little promotion.

I understand I've got to start somewhere but I am going to make this work somehow.

I know this is not the typical journey thread because it involves a physical item but if you have any suggestions please comment.

I am also considering using google adwords but that's a given, but I'm still looking to do some different types of marketing.

I was also thinking about twisting this method by signing up with one of the free giveaway sites where you get people to tweet, like, share, the website.

Day 1 :

nice dude, good to hear your making money! I would definitely scale the Facebook page, search for Ulead on here, its a tool you must have! Also do videos of your product, that will help as well!

btw, short.st is some asian website, google showed me shorte.st to be the link shortening one.

How did you amount this number followers on the different social networks?

Also have an etsy page, I've read thread on people who made bank with etsy when they first came out but I doubt any aggresive marketing is allowed there now

thanks man, Ulead, I'll check it out. I'll do some videos also. Should they be like review videos or advertisement type vids?

the # of followers for each social network was just me going to those sites and seeing how many followers it has.

And yes, the link shortening website is shorte.st / has anyone else used them before?

I just typed in search terms for people with the same interests and liked their posts and pictures, they just started following and commenting.

I was going to use fiverr to get followers but decided against that, lol trying to build a solid foundation with this method

If i was you i would drop the link shortener, im presuming the link shortener provides a revenue via a interstitial ad, if so its a mistake as the people clicking the links would be in buying mode and don't want to be distracted by a stupid ad page (before seeing what they originally clicked the link for), instead you should be driving them straight to your page and hopefully make a sale instead

Created a group on Facebook. Only has 49 members so far. does anyone know how to add all people with similar interests to this group?

I have 20,000 FB UID's of people who are in this niche but I'm coming up with the best way to use them. Got them from someone on fiverr but not sure how to add them using the UID's

Made it up to 520 followers on tumblr. Does anyone know or have any tips on how to get a larger following using tumblr?
