A Moral Dilema

Hey blackhatters,
I've got a moral dilema and I need your opinion.

I was into trying a new sport and went for a second hand equipment to give it a try. I knew a pretty nice guy who was a salesman in the market and he sold me his old equipment insuring me that I will have no problems. Later it appeared that the equipment had serious repair that later I found from other people in the business that once in repair the equipment was considered not eligible for normal use. The repair was done by the salesman and the equipment got damaged after 2 weeks of use. So I asked for a refund and also offered to pay for the repair. The salesman said he would buy back the equipment but the professional repair would be 70% of the original price. My whole trip after so much preparations and kms was ruined. I was mad and wanted revenge.

But after few days I calmed down because I don't feel so comfortable doing damage upon others on purpose and made him an offer. He would repair the equipment as he did before and I will promote his website. He refused arrogantly...

It's been almost an year and this thing is eating me. It's not about the money or revenge. It's not a big sum but it really gets me mad when people abuse and make fools of people in such open and arrogant way. I've always tried to evade revenge as it's not constructive. But spanking bad businesses might be good for the society and at least the people who are going to land on the site (like I did).

So should I make some damage on his website not because of revenge but because such people should receive some spanking for their bad behavior?

I have senuke, scrapebox and others and I guess I could do some damage on the ranking and clutter his forum.

I really would like to see what your thoughts are.

My thoughts are that you have mental issues and probably need to seek some professional help. I would strongly advise you to speak to a qualified medical professional and talk the situation out. Explain to them how you've had feelings of revenge for the past year because someone sold you something that wasn't up to standard. lol.

And lol at "bad behavior". Your ego is running rampant and wants to inflict punishment on others. Take responsibility, take control and stop blaming others for your failures.

Spend less time worrying about things you have no power over, and more time learning from your mistakes.

After a year and your still fuming about it. Sheesh - Get over it already.
If it were only a week or so into the problems, OK, then you might be able to do something. But after a year, then it is YOUR Problem, not theirs.

If you feel so much about it, then make up your mind, go upto him, kick his b@lls and do some damage there, and say SORRY!

Heed the message in the quote. Life is short, don't waste energy on something that will generate you nothing more than a whimsical notion of closure and a lifetime of regret.

Why not instead show him how much he lost out in refusing your offer to promote his services, by giving him a taste of it (rank one keyword, optimise a single landing page or whatever you are good at)?

Or just move on.

I surely have an ego problem, (been reading about ego death). Guess will need to work on it. Also I think I exaggerated a little that it's eating me. Maybe I have quite a good life and such small things standout for me more. I'm also used to being frank and honest with people and expect that from them but I guess that's quite gullible and idealistic.

Maybe I haven't learnt my lesson from the story. Which I guess is kill your moral standards and rape people as much as you can. I would definetely make A LOT MORE MONEY that way. But still...

I just hate to see liars and crooks rising up. Or maybe that's the way "Until there are fools, there will be crooks."

But still. I have to repeat my question. I'm not talking about me getting revenge. What do you do when you see somebody being a crook with others. Shouldn't be your social obligation to at least do something?

More examples from my experience:
- A guy is selling second hand air-conditioning to old people to quite high prices and on top of this he is replacing stickers for bigger inches of the fan to get more money on top.
- Man goes for spare parts, the owner doesn't have the exact part at the moment but gives him similar so that he would come back and change it when they have it in stock. The buyer wastes tons of time and transport fees...

You have something substantive to say. That's says a lot right there. 90% of people that post in forums do not. You have a style problem. Part youth and inexperience, part you can't decide if you are going to write OF yourself, or write ABOUT yourself. Stephen King is the only author on the planet that gets to do both. You don't. Pick one, and stay with it through the entire essay. Self-reference has a place, but you lack the experience to know when and when not to do it, so I suggest you avoid it altogether until you've had more "seasoning".

The essay will either speak for itself, or it won't. Your presence in the middle of it all will either weaken a good post, or underline the weakness of a weak post. Maintaining constant, laser sharp focus throughout is key, and you must be acutely aware of when you diverge from that focus, and why, and it's usually a good idea to come back because sometimes those reasons are not as self-evident as you the author might think.

I read a quote once. He was criticizing someone, an actress I think. He said, "It's not just "you", it's just that there is SO MUCH "you" there, that there isn't any room for anything else." If you had large breasts and a dripping wet vagina, we might care about "you", but you'd have to post pictures in order to prove it. Since you don't, it would be best if you just wrote "of" yourself, and not "about" yourself.

here do this, you say you got scrapebox? well figure out his name or name of his business, if you know both his name and his business name then this is what you do..

for his name blast out comments like ( while my dad was fucking my mom in the ass the sperm ran down to her pussy and created a shithead like me ) you know just whatever... now for his business name do the same but make them bad reviews so when someone googles his business name they will see bad reviews. when someone google his real name they will find out why he is such a shithead. and blast that mother f'er to every website you can. can also report to BBB

now once you have done that you should feel a bit better especially once you see those pop up in google. once they are i would send him a link to the search inquiry on google and say haha bitch eat my ass.. now of course dont use your normal mail to send this to him so he dont know who did it.

after you done this then listen to Nigel Farage advice and instead of letting it bother you ever again just move on with your life and dont think about it again, if that thought crosses your mind again later down the road you should just laugh because of what you did to him and it would make a funny story to tell your friends.

Dude, it has been a year. You should always do research before buying stuff...
I've unfortunately been scammed several times myself, but spending time on revenge won't get your money back and won't help you to earn more money... just learn from the experience and advice others not to make the same mistake....that's the best revenge you can have.

I won't talk about the part where it's been a year and this is still bothering you because others have talked about it, but I actually believe that you SHOULD sink this guy's website. If you're preventing others from being scammed then it's definitely a good action to take... imagine if you could save 10 lives by eliminating the killer, would you do it? Same situation here, but less extreme.

Get proper legal advice then... what's stopping you?

Senuke, SB... they are not the answer. The answer stares at you but you're blind to it... purposefully. Drop it & move on, man!

The answer is: you got a second-hand item, got no warranty, lost it due to whatever, couldn't get back the paid money -- legally or illegally because you were possibly scared to take any actions... for 1+ year!!! --- and now you think our SEO-related forums is a bunch of criminals who're going to tell you how to get mean and even with him???!!!!

Such threads always get some funny answers simply because the OP deserves them.

You're the bigger fool than that crook because you could have taken a proper action but chose to put your tail in between the legs...


... A simple thought would have saved the day then and the acidity of 1+ year! The equipment was old, you were getting only an assurance, it wasn't even on proper paper! You should have paid a pro technician and got it examined before paying... simple action! You failed yourself, he sold an old item without hiding the fact that it was old. The item even worked for 2 weeks lol... possibly you didn't use it properly or it would have worked for one more week at least! Bad luck... move on.
