A making money method idea. Will it work?

Hey guys I am a newbie here, actually just started to learn SEO until now I learned everything about web design and programming but that's just not enough.

Maybe the idea I have sucks but am a newbie so i thought i'll ask you what you think

So, I have this idea, to call people on their phone so I can send them to my link and make them complete an offer for me. I have found many leads online along with their emails and phone numbers and I know that most of the internet marketers do not use Phone selling. So, for example I find a lead that is 30-50 years old, and I tell him I am from some government organisation and I am offering him free gas for one year, as a reward for him of paying taxes. Then, I give him my link (I would buy a simple domain for that to make it easier) and direct him to the free gas survey ( assuming i have found a free gas campaign).
I would make the calls from Google Voice for free.

So what do you think?

Actually it might work, but dont say you are from government or seomething

get a domain and say that you have free prizes for some selected ppl and they are one of them, so enter xxxx.com/freegas

and complete.

It would probably work for a period of time - but whatever offer you are sending them to would not convert and you would likely get shut down by your CPA network... (and probably would not produce high enough money per hour to make it lucrative anyway) - BUT good that you're thinking.

Just use PPC....thats just too much work plus i think most guys u call will just think ur a scam once u start talking about filling a form online..(just my 2 cents)

I wouldn't pose as the government. Why not pose as a gas company customer service rep? Ask them a few questions and if they would be able to answer a few more questions online for a chance at a $500 free gas card or something , and get their email address.

I don't know why would I get shut down by the network. What if I buy fake traffic, send it to my website, also lead the leads in my website, so like this I am sending traffic to them from my website, I don't think there is a way for them to find out I am using phone for this.
And i know it requires a lot of work but I got 2 months of free time after the end of June and i thought i dedicate to something.

Thank you. Actually the government think was just an idea, I am thinking first few days to try few different things, see which works better, and stick with the best converting one.

It can work , not worth time and call costs but if your willing to work hard enough sure why not. Only thing is I recommend using incentivized email submits try not to use normal ones you might get in deep shit.
