Ok I will cut right to the chase just got offa the phone with a CPA company I signed up with yesterday, no biggie I was ready for his call thanks to the AWESOME post by crsk8andsno56.

I pretty much followed his advice and the call went great! .....
However the last thing the Aff Mngr said was I will be sending a questionnaire to your email. I thought ok once again no biggie...... that was till I saw the ?'s and am now at a loss for some answers. Knowing the intelligence of this forum I knew where to ask.

Here is the ?'s I have no answers for at the moment can you guys please help me out?

Question 1 : Please describe the fraud protection (user controls) you have in place:

    Question 2 :
Do you have an IP scrub for user registration? (Yes/No) <-- WTF is this??

    Question 3 :
Do you have a mechanism in place to prevent users from completing the same offer multiple times? (Yes/No) <---- Do they need to know the name of the mechanism or just a simple yes/no deal?

Thank You all in advance who may respond to this need for assistance!!!
    Kev

    1 - None
2 - No, the affiliate company should be doing that
3 - No, the affiliate company should be doing that

Sorry bro, I have never had anyone ask me those, and I have never done any of that ...

No, no, don't use my answers!

They were just a spoof as I have never seen that, nor do I know why they would be asking.

fulleclipse, if I had to guess, I'd say you applied for an account for an incentive site, right? Because those are the questions that a network should ask every incentive affiliate who comes on board.

The reason for the questions is because of the huge amount of fraud surrounding incentive sites, in particular those built on ShiftCode.

DeskCoder, questions 2 and 3 actually do apply to the affiliate and not the network. The reason these two checks should be in place is to prevent the fraud before it gets to the end merchant. The network would catch all the duplicated offers if the affiliate didn't have the checks in place, but only after all the leads had already been done and sent off to the merchant. It's not a huge deal for simple signup campaigns, like e-mail only's, but it's a major pain for trial offer merchants to deal with it.

What this means is do you have something in place that will prevent someone from registering at your site multiple times from the same IP address. This would keep someone from creating "myaccount1", then "myaccount2", then "myaccount3", etc.
What this means is do you have something in place that prevents a user from seeing an offer once they've completed it. This keeps the user from repeating the offer over and over for credit.

I spoke with my aff mngr and told him that I would liek to set up multiple site for incentive and non-incentive and he said no prob we would just clone my acct. So what would I say to those answers then in your honest opinion?

You should answer the truth. If you don't have the protections in place for #2 or #3, just tell them. If you don't have them and say you do, they'll find out anyway when they start seeing offers being repeated. If you bought the script, and you aren't sure, your best bet is to ask the people you bought the script from.

Ok well I sent the return on the questionnaire and basically explained that I did not have these implemented but I would look into getting these.

Would anyone have any suggestions on what scripts to use or programs to implement these?

    thanks kev

Off*ercl*oak has an "allow duplicate ip" feature that you can check no, and thus prevent duplicate clicks on the offer from the same ip.

It was CPA Storm, and I believe it was because I wanted to do Incentive offers as well as non-incentive.
