Hey guys, I need your help.

I was running some massive programs last night in my laptop and went to sleep. When I woke up I realize Windows 7 was crashed. I restart the system and have a whole load of missing DLLs.

One of the main dll is COMCTL32.dll.
I would really appreciate it if any of you Windows 7 users can upload a copy of that to mediafire for me so I could replace my faulty one.

That DLL file is for interface (buttons and such).

I know repairing windows 7 is the only way (no system restores saved), but when I bought this bloody Dell laptop there wasn't any windows 7 CD for me. So I have to download it and it will really take a long time.

So I hope any of you windows 7 user can help me on this.

Hey man
If i'm correct you will find the dll files you need on: dll-files ...Google it, Can't place links yet ;) It's on the number one spot.
Good Luck!

Thanks, but tried that.. I've googled all over the place for it.
Unfortunately the DLL Version is the old (5.8 or something) which is only for XPs.
Vista and windows 7 requires version 6.

aah ok.. well i've got 7 and would like to upload it for you.. but how the hell am i supposed to give you the link? :p any suggestion?

can't post URL's, but google for "comctl32.dll windows 7 download"
select 2nd result (should be from pcsupportDOTaboutDOTcom).

summary of page:
* Do not download comctl32.dll from a "DLL download" website

* Start Windows in Safe Mode - try any of the following:
* Restore comctl32.dll from the Recycle Bin.
* Run a virus/malware scan of your entire system.
* Reinstall the program that uses the comctl32.dll file.
* Update the drivers for hardware devices
(NOTE: go to supportDOTdellDOTcom - on any PC -
enter your service tag# - should list all drivers & BIOS ups)
* Run the sfc /scannow System File Checker command
* Install any available Windows updates.
* Test your memory and then test your hard drive.
(NOTE: Some Dells ship w/diagnostic partitions)
* Repair your installation of Windows
Last Resort
* Run a free registry cleaner
Nuclear Option
* Clean Install (NOTE: contact Dell for restore media)

hope this helps.
