A Large Multi-Niche Site vs. Small Micro-Niche Sites

Hi guys, i recently was thinking about diversifying my income, and i wanted to start a website. I've been thinking every aspect of what i should do, should i start a branded multi-niche site or hundreds of small micro-niche sites?

For the multi-niche site, i was thinking of making something similar to "10Beasts.com" or "PCmag.com". I am already earning a good amount on Youtube with a similar style, but i just want to get the traffic of google too. I also have money and time to invest into it.

For the micro-niche sites i was thinking of creating around 15 websites per month with 30-40 articles each. Some examples would be "Knifeup.com" and "Showerchamp.com/"

I have a team of writers which can create around 10-15 high quality articles a day.

Any opinions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

it depends on your link building budget, as youre aware the road to ranking is much faster w the micro niche sites vs the larger, broader ones

Budget is not a problem, because i am already earning a good amount and i am ready to invest everything i earn

If you've got the budget, you do both.

Small niche site for EVERY small niche your main site will have, then you power up the smaller sites to rank the main site, whilst also doing link building for the main site.

I mean, you need some real change. But if you are earning it shouldn't be an issue.

if you have money and time and also a team, so why don't you try them both ?

I agree with @MikeyMikey13 . If budget really isn't an issue, then this is a great approach.

You always have the option of expanding some of the micro-niche sites into larger ones once they become successful.

I prefer small micro niche site.. But still It’s really up to you, and how you want to showcase your brand.

what do you mean by 'power up'?
ive always thought about a grand plan involving 301'ing each high ranking micro niche site to the relevant category page on a new huge broad site- does that make sense? though not sure what you mean by power up

I've done both, my micro sites ranked so much quicker, the large multi-vertical site is taking a lot longer.

I have a keyword rich domain for micro-sites too, not sure how far that goes in 2018.

Start as small and the go with big, Choose a niche where you can start as small but got potential to turn into big.

301'ing isn't what it once was. You get much more value out of using the small niche sites to: sell products + link to your main site. Think of it like a pbn you are building.

And by power up, I meant go about your ordinary link building strategy (providing it works, of course)
