Just for the sake of understanding, what is the opinion people here have about anonymous?
With this I mean, do you support them? Despise them? Do you support their idea but reject their methods? do you support them regardless?

im pretty much in favor of the truth. i dont get the scientology thing. i mean if people choose a lifestyle or religion that makes them happy - good. but on disclosure - im for it. one of the more provacative emails distributed was cc'd to government agencies about supplying disinformation to wikileaks to prove them un-credible. i dont know.

What I meant to ask was about their ideals, not their tactics, Anonymous is an Anarchistic group, their primary objective is to end the State, because they see it as a coercive societal system which is imposed over everyone without absolute consent, and also that the State, and by extension, the Government is only able to exist because it supports itself through taxation, which they see it as illegitimate and theft.
I've done quite a extensive reading on them, when all the news about wikileaks were trending on google and youtube.
Their secondary objective is indeed the revelation of truth and transparency by all, but I honestly believe the issue of transparency is beyond closed at this point, if the Government exists as a representative will of the people, there can logically be no secrets hidden from the people paying for it.
The first issue is more delicate though, I do tend to lean aside their idea that taxation is for the better part, theft and that the State is indeed coercive and only serves a relative percentage of society, but I really don't know how one goes and removes the State without major bloodshed and war.

LightningLiberty, you did bring some important points, and very sincerely, the way I see it is this, all "democratic" governments in the world, be it the most authoritarian or less authoritarian ones, are nothing more than a mafia, or in other words, a mob rule, and everyone supporting it, through voting, through willingly paying taxes and so forth, is in my view a terrorist, because the government solves everything by force, by throwing you in jail, even by what is so called victimeless crimes, there are currently over 2 million inmates on the US alone serving time for nothing less than doing drugs, this is insane, everytime you vote for a certain state policy, all you're doing is saying "I support the use of force and incarceration of a certain type of people".
Another misconception about governments is that Democracy means "rule of the people" NOT "rule of the majority", the very first Athenian Democracies over 2500 years ago, were not systems of government, but rather systems of voluntary participatory consent!
Currently you are FORCED to participate, either that or suffer the force of the state, if you don't support a certain policy of your country, that's to bad, you either pay for it or get throw in prison and lose all of your property.
This is insane, we are living under a invisible dictatorship known as the state and nobody seems to care!

Yeah, and people like you, not saying you directly, but people like you, who agree in how the government is a cancer and must end, still go and moronically vote for the next well intentioned politician or the well spoken one, when you just don't see, it is the system of "representative democracy" that must end, and as long as there are people voting in this fucking fantasy, delegating power to a third person, this problem will never be solved.
You all criticize your government, but you still vote for it, you all criticize the actions of your government, but you still pay taxes, you all question the nature of your government, but you still give it credibility.
You are terrorists by ignorance, as you actively choose any information that questions your deer beliefs about your government and keep paying for it and supporting it, ignoring all the harms that comes from it's existence!
I cannot respect anyone who supports any state power, because those people have a blindfold in their eyes and hears, and pour more and more glue in it everytime someone comes and questions it's nature.
