How does this work? How does the proxy show networks shaving leads?

I really hope you didn't use a public proxy or you can kiss your account goodbye.

Most offers work for specific countires so if you're in Germany and you want to test an offer that's for USA only, you'd have to do that with a USA proxy. It's not recommended though unless you're willing to risk your account.

Does this mean that the network might be able to tell that you are doing the CPA offer and thus, discount the lead?

Quite a few advertisers/networks have pretty good proxy detection...
I've tried this as well for a US offer. Result was that it didn't convert.
So I got a friend to do a teamview session and low and behold it worked ;)

(Also, if it was a public proxy, or even a proxy that has been used a few times on the same advertiser, then it most likely won't convert again).

In other words I wouldn't be surprised if advertisers have started looking into hostnames (to block out a lot of proxies).

I have several computers in my house, one of which has a 56k modem =) I use this rig to test offers to make sure they are converting as they should be.

I am still searching for a proxy that cant be detected as a proxy!
