A gentle nudge backlink service?

I am just getting back into IM after 3 years off. Have my site ready to roll. It's only a week old and I am wondering if anyone can recommend a service that is just enough to get some initial rankings? I see a lot of the packages range from like $120+. I'm literally looking for a $30 range service, just to give the site a little nudge and gain some initial rank. I definately don't want to hit it hard right out of the bat.

Seems back when I was doing IM, there were a lot of lower cost solutions. Thing is, i don't want to pour $125 into the niche yet until I see some signs that its going to take hold and be a good niche.

That's why you spend weeks/months going through niches, researching markets and learning what they're worth.

Niche selection is the most important thing you can do. When I pick niches I KNOW there's a certain amount of buyer intent. I KNOW they're worth a certain amount of money. When you understand how much a niche is worth, $$$ becomes a nonissue. The only time money should be an issue is when you're targeting niches you shouldn't be. In which case you find out more about the niche. By either messaging the vendor, searching other market places, comparing it to similar niches other people have data on (there are skype groups for this), etc.

There are 3 factors I've learned over time that rarely fail me.

1) Knowing not just how much $$$ you can squeeze, but how much MORE you can squeeze than your #1 competitor.
2) Knowing it's an industry that's below your means / overresourced to capitalize.
3) Being prepared to invest 2-3xs what you planned if you need to.

I like to target weak niches I'm overresourced to capitalize on. I check how the top competitor is monetizing / selling and if I can't do it better, if his sales skills are better (which is rare in low-med niches) then I wont compete. If not, I'll overestimate how much it will cost to rank and underestimate how much the niche is worth.

This way when it comes time to drop money I'm ready to wage war.

For $30 you can:

1) Buy a few manual web2.0's

2) Aim some dripfed social shares at it

3) Aim some cheap blog comments at it

4) Maybe have enough left over for a coffee while you wait...


These aren't a "bad" option, but they do not have much ranking power. At best they lay the foundation for future ranking IF you do more/better links eventually.

If I were you, I'd order the content for $30 and do the web2.0s manually to begin with.

your best bet would be ordering some web 2.0's and some content for your site to get started with.

Well, I'm taking my check from work and dumping it in lol, I'm addicted. Already made 3 sales off the website. Is there a web 2.0 service you would recommend? I'd do them manually, but I don't want to be putting articles on web 2.0's that dont have any power. Maybe if I find a good LIST..I can do them manually.
