I currently use wordtracker @ 50 bucks per month.

Can you recommend a similar, free way, to explore keywords?

I know about the one on seobook and dp. And I use google's keyword tool.

Why not use the free version of Wordtracker? It also has a Google Trends version, you just add gtrends to the url after the free keyword tool's url.

Also try kwbrowse.com to find long tail keywords.

Market samurais has a free trial and you can apply for as many trials you want under the same email.

Tip: say you were referred by "the thirty day challenge" you well get a 40 day trial.
