A few things to consider before buying BHW Guest Post Services

I just want to loose some words about Guest Posting Services that are offered here and elsewhere.
I bought about 4 different services here on BHW and now I got reports for three (Ron.Rays Service is still not delivered, so it is excluded from the opinions in this post). It is not my intention to publically out providers and to take some guys the food from the table, I really just want to clarify some myths and make some experiences publically you might think of before buying guest blog services here on BHW.

The Conclusion first:

Guest Blog Postings are the new Blog Network postings - Difference: much more expensive per Post + no spun content. Instead of buying 50 blogposts for $50 Dollar, you pay this for 1 blog posting. Googles strike against the networks has risen the revenue of link building providers. Ironic...



How do I come to this opinion?

Well, as I said I bought a few services and all of them (which I got reports for) dissapointed me very much.

What I thought before buying:

- The targets are blogs that also offer their own posts, may have a loyal readership and I will get relevant traffic from it (short time as usual for theme relevant blogs, but still targeted traffic)
- The blogs are real blogs and even would withstand a manual review.

What I got:

- Unique Posts
- Postings on blogs, that follow this method: Offer guest blog posts, so you don't have to care about content and spread ads all over the site. That seems to be the deal: Space for links in exchange for content on MFA/MFAZ/MFE type of sites.
- I checked the referrer log from my advertized site. Guess how many UVs i got from my blog posts? Well, the highest amount was 4 views from one blog. All other 0-2 (0 means, the link has even not been checked to work before handing out the report).
- And on one provider: The blogs have been hardly relevant. And even the content was not relevant. Advertized should be a perfume line, content was about skincare. Advertized should be skincare, content was about scentend candles.
- All blogs hat a BIG link in the menu, "Become an author" and similar footprints.
- All blogs had a massive amount of postings without media and 3-4 anchored links within the content, just like from your usual blog network.+

All in all you should better go for niche lobby by sahil, who declares that is a network and does not market/mock it as Guest Posts...

I really don't want rant. Money lost for bad quality links, I am okay with that, as it happens from time to time, but other buyers here should be aware if they are on a tight budget.

You know services on here aren't generally meant for high quality direct visitors, they are meant to boost seo.

To be honest guest posting is the thing that's work best for me lately, in my opinion it's one of the highest quality bh seo methods available (after manual Web 2.0 networks which I find also works well).

The truth is, SEO is more expensive now - google cottoned on to spun content and now things need to be done manually and with real content, that's why it's all more expensive.

But I do agree with you as we'll, providers should be working much harder to provide quality now, because SEO is getting harder, and I see buyers here are much more cautious now.

C'mon David, sure they are ment for SEO but which Guest Post Provider isn't advertizing with "real visitors from real blogs" and that is simply a lie in the most cases.
The quality of the most services here goes really down the drain, even those with the best reviews. My opinion is relevant as I have a large budget and am spending and trying very much here in BHW. Lately when I am checking the reports I am almost all the time "Oh my god - why did I do that" - Results are getting loss and losser ( sorry, don't know how to say this in english correctly ) and many properties have a quality where - if I imagine my customers discover them - I get sleepless nights.
At the moment I am on the subscription on BK47 and Matija and since long times it seems to push properties I dont have to be ashamed for beeing linked from.

Yea, that point I definitely agree on, I do see a lot of false advertising in that respect.

There's an opportunity for a new service then - value added seo- the first service to offer real quality blog posts that you'll be proud of

I have been thinking of some ideas for quite a while, but snowed under at the moment but maybe we can do something in near future- we can discuss later.

In the mean time ill look legitSEO up.

I often times think it is better to not say anything when I'm not happy with a service,
although I often feel the same as you, "damn, why did I buy this shit!"

It's tough, trying to weed through all of these great hyped-up, marketing-savvy BSTs!

I try to find you in all of the BSTs that I'm considering, and in case anyone is wondering, Subster has run the gamut of services here. His recommendations are worthy if you ask me!

I think guest posts will be the next thing google targets... I have seen too many people using them now.

@subster: I couldn't agree more. That's why I always ask for some samples sites before ordering. The term "guest post" is used loosely at the moment. I think it's almost in the same degree as "White-Hat". A LOT of people say they only use white hat techniques, yet, when asked what they're doing, the spit out the words; manual web 2.0s, manual directories, manual this and manual that. They ASSUME that if it's done manually, it automatically becomes white hat. If WE are the ones who's creating those links, that's NOT white hat.

Agreed 100% Dennis - WhiteHat seems to be magic sell button for providers. Beside Press Releases I did not saw any WH services here. Why? Results would come to slow+ it would be too expensive, nobody would buy and those who'd buy would complain.
