    Hello,

I enjoy writing, and own a few blogs on which I publish unique content written myself. I have been browsing around BHW and noticed the article section.

Since im new to writing articles for others I was wondering where the best place to list my writing skills would be and the best way to build a portfolio of my article writing skills.

If anyone can provide any advice on the above feel free to post and if anyone would like any articles in exchange for refferences let me know as im looking for about 10 people as references.

    Thanks allot,
    Hist0ry

Try writing and submitting articles to Associated Content, Suite 101, Textbrokers, or Triond. If your not interested in that, try selling your articles on constant content or article sale. This will help build your portfolio and earn money at the same time.

I write for a lot of people and I haven't really had the need to advertise much but I'm still pretty busy.

I started out writing for a few members on BHW and supplemented that with TextBroker and ConstantContent. CC is good but their editors are strict so expect to get a few rejections due to revisions needed.

You could also write and sell packs of PLR articles on certain niches, just make sure to price them right and only offer a limited number of packs.

Honestly, just write yourself a real good sales letter aimed at potential new clients. Go to the "Hire a Freelancer" section and check for people looking for writers. Send a PM with your sales letter to anyone looking. You might have to send out a bunch to really snag one but it works.

You're going to get orders for SEO articles so make sure you understand what that is and what clients are looking for when they order them.

Just be prepared to do A LOT of writing lol At one point I ended up writing 60 articles in one week and had gotten orders for 20 articles in 48 hours. Hope you're a good writer!

    Good luck!

This is a great place to start. I'm an article writer as well and just hanging around this forum gets me a lot of business. Also try elance and odesk. I'm sure you'll get a lot of work soon. But, like Shadowflux said, you need to be prepared to write a lot!!! As soon as word gets out you'll be getting orders like crazy. I'm actually starting to prefer re-writing as opposed to original content. It's easier and it's a better ROI in terms of time. You'll find yourself pushing out like a an article an hour if the subject is difficult. It's a good starting business though.
