Hello guys!

I am really a newb to AC (just started 2 days ago) and I got a few fast questions.

1) If I choose non-excluse, is it okay for me to take somebody elses articles and publish them? Like the ones in the newspapers?

2) If I post a article, should I publish it as "up-front" or "Automatic performence" ? What is the different in short.

3) Does AC only pay per pageview of my article and not just for an article like many other sites?
Thanks in advance.

Please don't post any links to another thread which explains this as I think I've already read most of the threads about AC in here ;)

Thanks in advance,
Sune

Not to be mean or anything but your questions can be answered by reading AC's help page. Please take the time to read it.

Non-exclusive still need to be original. The difference between non-exclusive and exclusive can be found below.

2) If I post a article, should I publish it as "up-front" or "Automatic performence" ? What is the different in short.

Upfront payment = AC will offer you money for your article and you still can get page view payments.

Performance payment = No upfront payments! You get paid by how many people view your article. Basically $1.50 for every 1000 page view

The difference is that you get more money submitting for upfront payment (of course upfront payment is reserve for Americans however some non-Americans are able to sign up for an American account). You might want to ask someone how to do this. :D

3) Does AC only pay per pageview of my article and not just for an article like many other sites?

I don't know if you are an American or not.

AC pays Americans both page view and upfront
Non-Americans only page view

Thanks in advance.

Taken from AC help page:

If you submit as Exclusive, you give AC the Exclusive rights to publish your original content. Exclusive is the best option if you want to maximize your potential for payment and distribution and you don't plan on publishing your content anywhere else.

This content...

  • cannot have been previously published.
  • cannot be re-published elsewhere by you.
  • cannot be removed from AC by you.
  • typically attracts higher Upfront Payments.
  • is automatically eligible for Performance Payments.
  • is automatically eligible for distribution with AC partners.

If you submit as Non-Exclusive, you give AC limited rights to publish your original content. Non-Exclusive is the best option if you want to re-publish this content elsewhere, but still want it to have potential to earn Upfront Payments and distribution through AC.

This content...

  • cannot have been previously published.
  • can be re-published elsewhere by you.
  • cannot be removed from AC by you.
  • is eligible for Upfront Payment Review.
  • is automatically eligible for Performance Payments.
  • is eligible for opt-in distribution with AC partners.
I hope this answers your questions.:D

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I kinda knew that it could be found somewhere on AC just couldn't find it :)

I am not from America but my account is verified (the mobile thing) and I used a American name/sitizen etc. I guess they can't find out that I am not an American lol :D
I also used an American proxy to signup through hehe.

There are no reason to NOT choose upfront payments, are there?

Thanks a lot for your reply.
Really apreciated.

Go right ahead and submit for upfront payments. As long as you follow their rules for submission, you should be fine.:D

Yeah, I just submitted my first article.

I've been preparing my self for a long time now. I have been reading threads here at BHW for months now hehe :D

Thanks again for the answer.

many thanks obitwo, i am currently in usa and registered myself even being a non-us resident.

will i have to go via a US proxy each time to submit my articles now ?

They don't auto-detect IP's but it's always safer to use a US proxy each time. The key point is not to give AC a reason to dig into your accounts. If they do then they can ban you either way. It's just part of doing business with AC. (If you're non US, or are using multiple accounts)

Good luck
